When I first got connected, I was a
believer.  I got free install because of a promotion that was running at
the time.  It was fast, i mean real fast.  I was getting 500Kbps to 1.2Mbps
down load speeds and it seemed like pages were loading at the blink of an
eye.  I was bragging to eveyone about the speed and price to everyone.  At
39.95 a month, it was a wash with what I was paying for a second phone line
and ISP. Then in November that all changed. The speed has been slower than
dial up at times.  Getting through to the help desk takes 1 to 2 hours or
more. NONE of the on line help links work.  Media one has serious problems
but they will not admit it.   Now I average 90 to 100Kbps speeds with it
quite often going much slower.  I am extreemly fed up with MediaOne.  I
have placed many calls for a resolution but the only thing I get is a
ticket number with no resolution.  They keep insisting on sending a tech to
my house to fix the problem but the problem is not here.  The techs that
they send agree and tell me that they are being dispatched all over for
speed problems but the help desk keeps telling me that I have an isolated
problem.I will be glad when DSL comes into my area.  I have heard about
some problems with them but it can't be any worse than MediaOne.
