EXPERIENCE:
DIRECTV INC Senior Staff Engineer	July 1996 - Present
Member of the product engineering test team and responsible for acceptance testing of all set-top products used to receive the DIRECTV broadcast. Worked on "end-to-end" broadcast equipment and be very familiar with all DIRECTV Broadcast operations and DIRECTV set-top box specifications. Also Responsible for understanding the use and operation of the broadcast hardware components (USPS), Program Guide generator System, Conditional Access System, source equipment (Server, signal generator, Test equipments, etc.). Specific test responsibilities include general maintenance of the NEL, maintenance and operation of all audio and video test resources, providing specialized expertise in the areas of audio and video performance, Advance Program Guide, Copy Guard Management System, Conditional Access System. Training of other members of the test team in audio/video performance measurements, and reviewing our audio/video specifications and test results. In addition to test responsibilities, also been Lead Engineer for Design and implement New Test (APG, WINK, CGMS, Local into Local Broadcast) .The responsibilities of a Lead Engineer include regular liaison with the manufacturer in order to prepare to receive a new product for testing, maintaining a test record and organizing the test flow once the product arrives at DIRECTV, and presenting a post-test evaluation of the final test results. As a member of the product test team, I am also responsible for supporting other technical activities within the DIRECTV Engineering group. This task includes providing testing expertise to groups developing new broadcast technologies for DIRECTV, providing support to other manufacturer's and suppliers as directed by engineering management, and participating in project reviews. Within the test team, major task is to constantly review and revise our test procedures (to accommodate any changes or additions to the DIRECTV specifications), and to interface with other organizations dealing with set-top box testing (such as News Datacom, our conditional access contractor).
