    Worked on projects dealing with system upgrade from 450MHz to 750MHz. Completed the design/powering and
    implementation of the MediaOne CATV system to a 2-way HFC system.

    DigiTel Network Services, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
    Designed Broadband CATV networks for Cable Television Companies. Worked on projects for MediaOne
    Communications, involving upgrade from 450MHz systems to 750MHz systems. Also worked for Broadband systems for
    Cox Communications. Projects involved in design and powering of upgrades as well as design for new CATV areas.
    Responsibilities included accuracy of forward and reverse signals and noise/distortion analysis.

    PROJECTS:

  • Several projects involving different techniques in processing digital images and video for filtering, compression, feature recognition and classification. Most of the projects were done using MatLab.

  • Designed and analyzed performance of binary and M-ary baseband and passband digital communication systems in the presence of noise, also designed and analyzed performance of analog communication systems in the presence of noise. Briefly examined data compression and error control coding techniques.

  • Special topic on CDMA, Studied the principles of spread spectrum, DS-CDMA, FH-CDMA, Mobile RF Channel Environment (propagation loss, long and short term fading), Different link structures, etc.

  • Digital integrated circuit design, analysis, and layout, and use of tools for creating complex CMOS VLSI systems. Designed the layout of CMOS Inverter, NAND, NOR gates and also complex functions using Magic, and simulate it using RNL.

  • Analyzed the concepts of RF and microwave electronic system design. Topics included amplifier design, matching, filter design, oscillator and mixer design, modulation, and receivers.

  • Special topic involving satellite communications, studied handoff problems in LEO satellites.

  • Several extensive projects for C using UNIX operating system.

  • Capstone design project: Designed a new generation and transmission facilities to meet the projected load of a specified area.

  • Group project for Power Systems: Studied Load flow through a Multi-bus system.
