SUMMARY

About ten and half (10-1/2) years working experience as a "Telecom Engineer and CATV Strategy Planner" with Pakistan Telecom Company Ltd. PTCL Pakistan. Remained responsible for about 6 (six) years in installation, testing & commissioning, operation & maintenance of AXE 10, EWSD, ALCATEL and NEAX61E digital switching systems including TRANSIT/MSU's, RDLU's, SDE's, OMC/DCP & DSB's positions along with allied power plant of exchanges. Also having 3 years hand on experience in the testing & commissioning, operation & maintenance of digital/analog microwave and fiber optic transmission systems i.e. DRS SDH/ FIBRE OPTIC (PDH/SDH) and UHF/VHF. Extensively worked as Strategy Planner and Business Developer for new Telecom services and technology i.e. HFC oriented CATV, Prepaid card services and IN services. Recently, completed 11 months degree course "Masters in Telecom Management" from Sofrecom INT France. Besides above, I have also two years experience in the design of building electrification and distribution systems with National Engineering Services of Pakistan (NESPAK) Ltd.
Presently, responsible to ensure smooth and uninterrupted Telecom services in a region comprises about 60 different digital exchanges and 1,10,000 telephone connections, through adopting strategic quality management, standard operation & maintenance procedures and latest concepts of customer care & billing systems. Also involve in the strategic business development of new telecom services i.e. 500,000 Cable TV HFC project for PTCL, IN Platform testing & services and business plan for the Pre-Paid Card services. Carried out the traffic and tariff planning at the tactical and operational level in the organization. As a part of customer care system of PTCL, developed the outside plant management database and fault management operational plan by using the tools like Fish Bone, SWOT analysis and Benchmarking etc.

B.Sc. (Electrical Engineering) from University of Engineering and Technology Lahore Pakistan during Jan 1988 with 77.1% aggregate.

Viable experience of 6 years in installation, APS (application program system) loading, testing & commissioning of various AXE10/ EWSD/ ALCATEL/ NEAX61E central and multiprocessor switching systems.

Hands on experience in Operation & Maintenance of AXE10/ EWSD/ ALCATEL/ NEAX61E transit, main switching units, remote line units, small digital exchanges, data communication processor & digital switch boards.

Office data creation, expansion, modification & dumping in order to implement subscriber/routing/code-point & charging mechanisms.

Strategic Business Development of new telecom services, preparation of concept papers for top management, preparation of business plan, formulation of working papers and presentation to strategic management of organization.

Formulation of complete business strategy of 500,000 customers of Cable TV for PTCL along with convergence technology plan based on the HFC network architecture.

Preparation of "Terms of reference" to engage the International consultant for PTCL Cable TV project.

Coordination in upgrading of EWSD systems Version 12 and ALCATEL E10B.

Loading & testing of the exchange APS (Application Program System), loading of the office data i.e. subscriber Data, Routing Data, Charging Data etc. in AXE/ EWSD / NEAX61E/ ALCATEL Switching Systems.

Fault diagnosing and alarm recovery procedure for smooth working of digital exchanges on a real time operating system through MML commands.

Operation & Maintenance of EWSD/ALCATEL and NEAX61E Switching systems in order to manage subscribers equipment/ circuits, routing and tracer data, charging data, observations and fault handling.

Recovery/Re-loading and rebooting of debacle digital exchanges by adopting standard emergency procedures through BAP and OMT.

Trouble shooting and fault rectification of associated exchange power plants i.e. Thyrister Controlled Rectifiers, Wall mounted GR-40 rectifiers, battery backup panel & Generator set.

To run fault diagnostic procedures and replacement of faulty hardware modules, cards and panels in AXE/ EWSD/ ALCATEL and NEAX61E Digital Exchanges.

Coordination with central technical Assistance Center (CTAC) of M/S Siemens and Alcatel on diagnostic & testing problems and on all issues relating to O&M of switching systems. Generation of fault analysis report, O&M activity reports.

Network setup & administration of 11 EWSD main switching units, 60 remote digital line units, 15 small digital exchanges, DCP & digital switchboards.

Network setup & administration of 2 NEAX61E and 1 ALCATEL main switching units

Operation and Maintenance of 6 PDH/1 SDH optical fiber and 140 various capacity digital radio transmission systems using all types of testing meters and tools including power meters, frequency counters and bit error recorders.

Supervision of all the Operation & Maintenance activities.

Coordination with module repair center in "TIP" and "CTI" telecom industries, for rectification of faulty hardware.

Organizing site visits & coordinating with the maintenance staff.
