CATV :
  • ability to work shift schedules, including weekend and after hour time frames
  • coaxial cable install (F6-QR)
  • install, maintain, repair, modify, upgrade aspects and components of on-site distribution systems (including line and
    trunk amplifiers)
  • experience in the design of CATV and DATA systems
  • electronics testing and ability to read RF signal meters - forward and reverse (FWD, REV) and DATA (QPSK modulation)
  • install service orders at customer's residence and repair and troubleshoot customer problems .

    OPTICAL :
  • optical cable install
  • create fiber optic splice packages (more than 2000 splice with "Fusion Splicer FITEL S148S")
  • create fiber optic patchcord, installation work orders and install fiber optic patchcord in headend HUB and optical nodes
  • create optical signal distribution box with optical spliters
  • analyzing OTDR traces, verify that optical span length corresponds to designed span length, verify splice losses, scrutinize
    traces for anomalies and verify cross connection loss
  • perform measurements with OPM and OPS
  • design fiber optic systems, receive fiber assignments from director, determine splice requirements for desired fiber optic
    spans, prepare required splice engineering packages and determine loss budget and approximate event distances for
    each fiber optic span
  • implement fiber optic cut over projects
  • install fiber optic equipment (AM/FM/DATA), fiber optic transmitters and receivers, optical nodes (C-COR ; Philips) .
