Storer Cable Communications:1982-1988 System Line Technician Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of the trunk and feeder system of a 300MHZ cable system. Performed sweep and balance of trunk amplifiers. Troubleshot any and all problems occurring in the broad band plant active and passive devices. Other areas of responsibility included Power supply maintenance and repair, signal leakage detection and repair, Head End off air and Earth Station satellite receive equipment maintenance. Use of a bucket truck and ladder. On call duty rotation was a further responsibility.
Block Island Cable:1988-1989 Chief Technician Responsible for all phases of operations for this 500 sub 300MHZ cable system. Performed maintenance From "Dish to TV and every thing in between". Managed small office. Set up and ran local station studio. Upgraded Head end to include satellite channels. Performed plant construction for upgrading and extensions. Even made repairs to bucket truck! This was a true one man operation.
Westerly Cablevision:(MediaOne)1989-2000 Sr System Technician Responsible for all phases of of plant maintenance on this 550MHZ HFC Cable System. Duties include sweep/balance of trunk amplifiers, Quarterly leakage CLI rideout and repair, quarterly Standby power supply maintenance, weekly end of line checks, Bi-annual F.C.C. proof tests, Outage correction, Line problems ect. Also serve as Head end/Earthstation Technician proficient in identifying and correcting all problems related to modulators, processors, scramblers, fiber optic equipment and all associated components related to the same. In 1989 was a key player in a complete Earth station rebuild/upgrade. Many times called upon to use skills in electronics to design and implement innovative solutions and custom interface equipment. Regularly chosen to handle the more technically challenging problems related to cable systems.
