Position: Maintenance Technician
Duties: My daily responsibilities are on-call rotation for digital, internet, and cable phone forward and return, also any cable outages/interruptions. In addition, I track ingress to maintain all return signals by checking low return frequencies which are being blocked by ingress. I conduct preventative maintenance on all nodes in the system ensuring that all light power is keeping output levels strong. This includes signal leakage, cutting new main line connectors, drop connectors, any type of plant maintenance. I work closely with head-end technicians to stay abreast of the launching of company's new technologies (cable phone deployment, digital ….). I maintain levels at head end transmitters and receiver to support forward and return frequencies. Currently, I am attending hands on training in splicing, relocating, and activating new fiber nodes in the system. Maintenance technicians are handling most of the fiber duties in the plant. I have experience on the following equipment: stealth track meter, OTDR, spectrum analyzer, and equipment related to the duties of maintenance technicians.
Awards/Training: I have received training in fiber splicing, digital, and leakage, to include, mainline splicing training.

Position: Internet Technician
Duties: My daily responsibilities are servicing all Internet customers from Internet computer configurations (TCP/IP) to the problems at the router and the server in the head-end. I download TCP/IP stack for customers. I arrange customers IP for modems and computers in the bootp server. I work with other problems in the server (TFTP, SNMP, LCN) these are Lancity Internet software. Currently, creating and setting up new @home server and router for new ISP.
I maintain the forward frequency of the Internet (507.25 mhz), this forward frequency needs to maintain a steady RF signal for the modems to remain online. In addition, my responsibilities include maintaining the return signal of the Internet (18-24 mhz). I have experience working with wavetech analyzer for keeping track of the return signals, stealth track, which sweeps the system, RF field strength meter, signal generator, and head-end receivers and transmitters. I track ingress to maintain all return signals by checking low return frequencies which are being blocked by ingress.
